ABSOLUT returns to the Smart City Expo in Barcelona

The Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe were once again represented at this year's Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. Together with the City of Leipzig's Digital City Department, the team presented innovative mobility solutions and developments in autonomous driving for public transport. Participating once again provided an opportunity to present Leipzig's projects and transport strategy approaches to an international audience of experts and to exchange experiences with experts from around the world.

At the event, Manuel Meyer (project manager for autonomous driving ABSOLUT) and Daniel Höfler (product manager for the on-demand service Flexa) provided insights into the ongoing activities. The focus was particularly on the progress made in the further development of the on-demand platform and the technical supervision of driverless operation of autonomous vehicle fleets. Both made it clear how ABSOLUT and Flexa are working together to integrate digital processes into public transport and test new forms of mobility.

The discussions at the trade fair once again demonstrated the great interest in the projects from Leipzig. The feedback and insights gained from the international exchange will be incorporated into further project work and support the transition to the next phase.
